Russel Risley
Russell Risley
Founder, Principal

Russell Risley founded Electrical Systems of California in 1986. He has over 25 years of experience working as an electrician and contractor. He began his career working for Sacramento-based electrical companies including Vasko Electric where he started as an electrician and was promoted to superintendent. He then took a position as branch manager of Walther Electric and eventually left to launch his own business.

Risley has spent the last 20 years developing a broad range of electrical and maintenance specialties for his various clients that range from small- to large-size property managers to complex industrial facilities. He specializes in full-service electrical, lighting and upgrades for commercial properties and industrial plants. Risley is a certified Electrical Journeyman, with years of hands-on experience working on heavy equipment and large-scale machinery.

He is also a second-generation entrepreneur born and raised in Sacramento. He has strong community ties and donates his time to several regional charitable interests. He enjoys training youth for competitive racing and funds a program for underprivileged children at the Capital Quarter Midget Association. He also donates electrical services to the annual Mather Field Air Show held in Rancho Cordova.

Risley is a husband and father of two children, Cole and Cambria. Catch him most weekends out at the track, working with his children and their friends to promote safe motor sports. His wife Michelle also owns her own marketing firm, MGR Consulting.

Field Service Manager

Jack C. Clay (a.k.a., JC) started mechanical training at a very young. He took apart a tape recorder just to see how it worked. He further discovered an interest in electronics and attended Shasta Community College, Redding, Calif., where he studied computer electronics and industrial electric. In 1995, he was hired as an apprentice where he studied under Russell Risley to learn about the electrical trade. He has become a proven, valuable and reliable employee and was promoted to field service manager.

When JC is not out in the field working on various complex electrical projects, he spends his off-time staying physically fit. He is also a food connoisseur who loves trying new restaurants. And if he is ever on vacation just know it’s very likely he is visiting his happiest place on Earth, Disneyland. He lives in Orangevale with his wife and two step-daughters.
